Here I present my chat with the great Anthony Saliba, an options trader of 40 years.
Anthony’s first 13 years in the industry were spent as a market maker on the CBOE floor, where he made approximately $9 million before he was even 30 years old (this was in the 80’s too, mind you). After accomplishing this feat, he became one of the traders featured in Jack Schwager’s first Market Wizards’ book.
Anthony hasn’t been resting on his laurels since then. He has continued to scale up—making waves in trading and various business ventures.
In our almost two-hour conversation, we covered Anthony’s experiences on the floor, his operation of a trader education company, the non-cliche traits of the greatest traders, longevity, and how he’s maximized his wealth as an entrepreneur, among other things.
What’s Covered in This Interview:
- Anthony’s journey from finance grad to stock broker and finally market maker on the CBOE floor—reflecting on the highs and lows along the way.
- The story of how he landed on the cover of Success magazine, and observations of his peers on the trading floor who made both more and less money.
- How Anthony accidentally started a trader education company, the main subjects they taught, and why necessity was the mother of invention.
- Exceptional traders and four non-cliche traits that they share, what being a disciplined market participant really means, and the value of workflow efficiency.
- Anthony’s power moves and how he has scaled his trading profits into an even larger fortune. Also, how traders should think about wealth and success.
