Interview With BTCVIX – Chat with Traders Episode 134

Welcome! This is Aaron Fifield and I appreciate you tuning to another episode of Chat With Traders.

I have a returning guest who was first with me on episode 53. His name is unknown, but he goes by the pseudonym BTCVIX.

It was episode 53 that was the very first time I talked about Bitcoin here on Chat With Traders, at the end of 2015. I’m sure you already know this, but the cryptocurrency markets have definitely evolved a lot since that time, so BTCVIX is helping us out fill us on what has been happening in that space and what may lie ahead.

Also, we chat about how to get different cryptocurrencies, the craziness around ICOs, whether Bitcoin is in a bubble, the best ways to protect your coins, and much more. Just for a bit of context, this interview took place on June 21st.

Just in case you can’t get enough of more Bitcoin, there will be another episode about it in the upcoming weeks with Bobby Cho from DRW’s Cumberland Mining.

But for now, check out today’s episode with BTCVIX.

What’s Covered in This Interview:

  • How you can explain Bitcoin to those who aren’t in the world of finance, how you can track transactions and the kind of investors dealing with “missed the boat” syndrome
  • How to set up a Bitcoin wallet, insight into fee structures, how that applies to transactions and how to store and protect the coins you do have.
  • The frenzy surrounding ICO (Initial Coin Offering) markets, how it’s similar to crowdfunding, and why companies offer ICOs.
  • What does it mean to describe something as a bubble, and whether that’s what Bitcoin is versus it being in a bubble.
  • How some people quantified Bitcoin’s value.
